April Fools’ Day!

Obviously, we are not actually changing our name to WOODGILL! Happy April Fools’ Day! But what we actually do is similar to the idea of teaching a man to fish. Our Mission is empowering lives through employment pathways that foster independence and personal growth to build strong communities, which is based on founder Edgar Helms’ April Fools’ Day!

Leonor’s Story

A single mom determined to create a better life for herself and her daughter, Leonor worked with our Community Health Worker Courtney to stabilize her situation. The Community Health Worker program assisted with getting Leonor better established in her home with her daughter, getting her daughter well-checks, and connecting Leonor with resources for furniture and Leonor’s Story

Cara’s Story: Effort + Consistency = Growth 

Vocational Habilitation Participant Cara V. has experienced a tendency to have a difficult time managing emotional situations. When these situations would arise, she at times would experience a sort of tunnel vision, becoming very focused on the situation, and unable to move beyond it in a productive way.   However, through her participation in the Works4Me Program and in Goodwill’s Vocational Habilitation Program, she has demonstrated tremendous progress as she learns and practices self-regulation skills.
